A Brief Overview
In this class we will be learning about the basics of engineering and design as well as different subjects that are commonly brought up in physics.
TedX Experiment Script
The following paragraphs are the script that my table group in physics wrote to talk about for our normal force project.
Good afternoon everyone, we are here to show you our project about normal force.
Normal Force is the natural force that comes into play when any object rests on any given surface. The way it works is that as gravity pushes downward on the object, normal force counteracts it by pushing in the opposite direction at an equal amount of power. For example, if I were to lie an object down on a solid surface, like this table, it wouldn’t press into the table because as gravity presses it in the table’s direction, normal force pushes it back upward, helping it rest on the table gently.
Using two chairs a meter stick or two and a book we will show you how normal force works. As the books lays flat on the meterstick, it bends a little. However, the book does not fall due to the surface (the meter stick) that is between the book and the ground.
The first thing that we will do is put the textbook and lay it upon the already placed meter sticks. okay so this going to be exciting!
Take another textbook and place it on top of the original textbook. Notice how the ruler bends as more gravity is applied. Now add another ruler just below the first one that was placed. When the bending restricts itself to a minimum, it will be clearly evident that more surface = more normal force.

Wind Turbine Project
In this project we had to build a working windmill and try to make it produce electricity. In order to do this we had to go through several steps that are considered part of the engineering design process.
Hunger Games District Model
For this project we had to choose a district from the Games (mine was district 4, the fishing one) and represent what we imagined the district might look like in person on a wooden board. We used circuits to make things on the board light up.
